Ten Reasons to Attend An Afternoon of Song: From Bizet to Broadway

In order to do our best for the health and safety of our audience members and supporters, we are postponing and Afternoon of Song from our originally planned date of April 5. We are working with Penn Charter and AVA to reschedule after the major concerns for COVID-19 are resolved. In the meantime, check back here for updates, look for silent auction items when we put them up for electronic bid - and plan to enjoy at a later date. Stay safe, wash your hands!

On a later date to be determined, at the William Penn Charter School, Linda Creed Breast Cancer Organization will host performers from Academy of Vocal Arts for an afternoon of song. Join us then and enjoy this fundraiser. Why? Here are ten great reasons:

  1. You’ve been hoping to find an unusual and rewarding way to spend a spring afternoon – and love great music.

  2. You’re a fan of the fabulous artists from Academy of Vocal Arts – or will be in April when they perform opera, Broadway and American songbook selections. We are excited about our artists this year - and know you will be also: Emily Margevich, Sahel Salam and Anne Marie Stanley.

  3. You have enjoyed this event before and can’t wait to bring friends to show them why you loved it so much.

  4. You were trying to think of a great gift idea for a friend or relative – and realized this experience fits the bill!

  5. You love silent auctions and can’t wait to bid on our fabulous items.

  6. You enjoy delicious snacks.

  7. You’d like to visit the conveniently located Penn Charter campus, part of the inspiration for The Goldbergs TV show, complete with its free parking and easy access elevator.

  8. You want to celebrate our fifth anniversary and make this the biggest and best event yet!

  9. You support Linda Creed and our work including breast health education, mammograms and screenings, patient navigation and advocacy.

  10. You want to share in this fun and cultural event for a good cause. Tickets are $40 adults, $35 seniors. Please go to or call 215-564-3700 for more information.
